Terms & Conditions
Version 2026-10-25-beta-5 · Updated October 25, 2026. For service questions, copyright/content reports or legal requests, use the Contact page.
1. The service and this agreement
YourShowreel hosts artist portfolios: finished showreels, artist-supplied shot credits, profiles, résumés and professional links. These terms apply when you create an account or upload content. The free public beta is for artists aged 18 or over and able to enter a contract. All current features are available without payment during beta.
2. Your account
Provide accurate information, keep your password private and tell the operator promptly about suspected unauthorized access. Use only accounts you are authorized to control. Do not impersonate someone, misrepresent your work or evade restrictions. You are responsible for your use of the account, but not for losses caused by the operator’s own breach of its legal duties.
3. Rights in your showreel and other uploads
You retain rights you own. Studios, clients, producers, musicians, collaborators and other rights holders retain their respective copyrights, trademarks and other rights. Uploading footage or naming a studio does not transfer those rights to you or to YourShowreel, and does not imply endorsement.
You must own the necessary rights or have a valid legal basis and all required permissions to upload and publicly display every part of your content, including footage, music, logos, performances, personal data and résumé information. You must be entitled to grant the limited hosting permission below. Participation in a project, attribution, a “showreel use only” notice or the fact that a film has been released is not, by itself, permission to publish it. Do not upload material covered by an NDA, embargo or client restriction unless you are authorized to publish it. Credits must accurately describe your actual contribution.
You are responsible for checking and clearing the rights in each upload before submitting it. This includes any studio or client approvals and restrictions, and separate rights in the soundtrack. Keep evidence of permissions or the legal basis you rely on; the operator may reasonably request it when assessing a report. By uploading, you confirm that your upload and the uses you enable are authorized by the rights holders or permitted by applicable law.
There is no automatic permission for a short clip, a particular number of seconds or a percentage of a work. A showreel, portfolio, password-protected upload or non-commercial label does not by itself establish a copyright exception. Fair use, fair dealing and other exceptions depend on the applicable law and the circumstances. A criticism or review video and a promotional showreel can have different purposes and legal treatment. You must assess your own use; YourShowreel does not provide a rights clearance or a legal determination. A clip appearing on another platform does not establish that you may upload it here.
4. Limited permission to operate your portfolio
To the extent you are entitled to do so, you grant the operator a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to store, back up, reproduce for delivery, transmit and publicly display your uploads solely to operate, secure and maintain your portfolio and the service. Necessary hosting and conversion providers may process content on the operator’s behalf for those purposes. This does not transfer ownership, authorize selling your footage, training AI models on it or using it in unrelated advertising. Your uploaded original is preserved; separate playback versions are generated for compatible streaming.
You authorize visitors to watch your published showreel under its access settings and access the profile and résumé information you make available. Enabling showreel downloads authorizes downloading through that feature only to the extent you can grant such permission; it does not license unrestricted reuse. A playable showreel can be copied by a viewer despite download settings. After removal, this hosting permission ends except for limited backup retention, legal obligations and handling existing disputes; removed material must not remain publicly served.
5. Prohibited content and conduct
Do not upload or share unlawful, infringing, stolen, non-consensual intimate or exploitative material; child sexual abuse material; credible threats; harassment; unlawful hate or incitement; malware; or private information without a lawful basis. Do not use the service for fraud, impersonation or illegal activity. Do not attack the service, bypass access or usage controls, create abusive accounts, scrape private data or use it as general-purpose file storage. Lawful fictional film/VFX material is not automatically unlawful merely because it depicts violence; context and applicable law matter.
6. Reports, removal and account restrictions
Report suspected infringement, illegal content or safety issues to the operator through the copyright/content report option on the Contact page. Include the portfolio/media URL, the material concerned, an explanation, your contact details and supporting rights or legal information. Do not send illegal copies as attachments. The operator may investigate, disable access, preserve necessary evidence and respond to lawful requests. Identify the work you claim rights in, your authority to act and why you believe the identified use is unauthorized, taking any applicable exception into account. Submit accurate reports in good faith; do not knowingly make false claims. The operator may contact the uploader for an explanation or evidence of permission. Reports will be assessed in context; the operator may request clarification.
The operator may remove material or restrict accounts for substantiated rights complaints, unlawful content, serious or repeated breaches, security risks or legal requirements. Where appropriate and lawful, the artist will receive reasons and an opportunity to respond to the operator. Urgent action may occur first where safety, security or law requires it. Repeat infringement can lead to account termination. You may use the Contact page to submit a report or challenge a removal. Reports and responses are handled according to applicable law; nothing in these terms limits legal reporting obligations or available rights.
7. Technical checks and plans
Uploads are validated and converted for compatible playback, with a maximum file size of 500 MB. Damaged, encrypted or unsupported sources may fail conversion. Passing a technical check does not verify copyright ownership, legality, truthfulness, absence of malware or compatibility with every device. Artists remain responsible for rights clearance. During public beta, accounts can use all current features with up to three showreels, each up to 500 MB, without a source-resolution or duration cap. Existing pilot testing allowances are preserved. There is no trial countdown and new paid checkout is unavailable during beta. Our goal is to always offer a free artist page with high-quality video, alongside optional premium features. We will explain future free and premium access and give at least 30 days’ notice before beta access changes. No payment will be taken without an explicit subscription choice. Existing subscriptions, if any, remain manageable through Account & security; beta access does not automatically cancel them. There is no plan-based monthly video transfer allowance. Keep your own original files and backups.
8. Public information and privacy
Authorized administrators may review profile information and uploaded showreels, including password-protected footage, to troubleshoot support requests or moderate content. Support access requires a recorded reason, is time-limited, and previews and changes are logged. Password protection controls visitor access; it does not exclude authorized service administrators. Removed showreels are retained for recovery rather than immediately erased.
Your profile, entered public contact email and professional links can be publicly accessible. Résumé details, uploaded résumé PDFs and filmography are visible when those features are available on your account. Published showreels follow their publication and password settings; uploading does not automatically publish them. Do not enter details you do not want visitors to see. Login credentials and internal acceptance records are not displayed on your portfolio.
The live service stores account, upload and session data on hosted infrastructure, rather than solely on a local test computer. IONOS hosts the site, stored videos and playback delivery. Google Cloud workers and private temporary storage may process videos for conversion before verified playback files return to IONOS. New uploads may also be screened by Google Cloud for likely explicit visual content before public sharing. Flagged uploads are held for administrator review; automated results are not a final decision. Temporary screening copies are removed after processing, while limited screening signals and moderation decisions are retained to manage reviews. The service records the terms version and UTC acceptance time. An administrator-only recent-activity indicator records when you actively use the Studio; it does not record keystrokes or form contents. Idle or hidden tabs stop refreshing it. Contact the operator for further information about retention, processing providers or data-rights requests. Use the Contact page to request access, correction, account removal or upload removal; self-service account deletion is not currently available.
The public artist directory is separate from accepting these terms. New accounts start listed by default; you can turn off your listing any time in Profile & theme. While listed, your name, role, location, disciplines, work preferences, availability and a link to an eligible published public showreel can be browsed by anyone, not only verified recruiters. The artist directory is excluded from search indexing. Other people may still copy public listings. A separate, optional search-visibility choice allows eligible public portfolios to appear in search engines; it is off by default. Search indexing and rankings are not guaranteed. Switching this choice off requests exclusion after a search engine revisits; it cannot recall copies or immediately erase existing results. Noindex is not access control. Downloadable PDFs and direct media routes are excluded from indexing. Directory-setting changes and search opt-in/withdrawal events are recorded separately from terms acceptance. Listing requires a verified email. New listings can show a name and a profile-in-progress label before a role or showreel is added; eligible published showreels without passwords can be linked from the listing. You can withdraw in Profile & theme; this removes you from our live directory, but cannot recall copies already made elsewhere. Directory preferences are artist-provided and do not verify employment, skills or work authorization.
Public marketing pages, artist portfolios and published showreel pages use Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure page views, visits, referral sources, country, device and loading performance. The analytics beacon does not use analytics cookies or collect form entries. It is excluded from signed-in visits, account and studio pages, private or password-protected content, previews and links containing sensitive query parameters. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals are respected. IONOS also provides hosting traffic statistics. Traffic estimates do not identify individual people. Artists can also see first-party aggregate counts for visits to public portfolio links and email-link clicks. Repeat events are limited within the existing browser session each UTC day; no visitor identity, IP address or referring URL is stored in those aggregates. Owner/admin visits, protected content, previews and supported privacy opt-outs are excluded. Counts are approximate and are not unique-person or confirmed-enquiry counts. See Cloudflare Web Analytics for information about the service.
To troubleshoot beta reliability, we record limited diagnostics for failed profile saves, uploads and publication attempts: signed-in member ID, operation, error category, HTTP status and time. We do not include form contents, file names, email addresses, IP addresses, error messages or stack traces in these diagnostic reports. Access is limited to administrators and reports are retained for up to 14 days. Reports may be limited or unavailable when a browser is offline.
9. Availability and responsibility
This is a public beta. Outages, errors and data loss are possible; there is no promise of uninterrupted hosting, recruiter traffic, employment or a particular commercial result. Artist uploads and credits are provided by users; hosting, conversion, automated screening or publication does not mean that the operator owns, endorses or has cleared those materials. The operator is responsible for its own conduct and duties under applicable law. Uploaders are responsible for their own unlawful uploads and breaches, including third-party claims attributable to them to the extent established by applicable law. These terms do not automatically shift all legal liability to uploaders.
For business users acting in their trade or profession, and only where lawful and reasonable, the uploader will reimburse reasonable, documented third-party losses directly caused by their knowing infringement or unlawful upload. This excludes losses caused by the operator’s own wrongdoing. The operator must give prompt notice and a reasonable opportunity to participate in the defense, and cannot agree a settlement imposing obligations on the uploader without consent. This business-user provision does not apply to consumers.
Nothing here excludes mandatory consumer protections or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including fraud and death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable. There is no blanket waiver of legal claims. Mandatory local rights and access to competent courts remain intact.
10. Leaving and changes
You may stop using the beta and ask the operator to remove your account and public uploads. Necessary legal/evidence retention will be explained where permitted. Material changes will be communicated and, when appropriate, require renewed agreement; a new version does not silently replace the version previously accepted. On downgrade, the main reel remains accessible under its existing privacy settings; extra reels become unavailable to visitors. Premium designs and shot breakdowns remain saved while the account stays open. There is no trial countdown during public beta. Password protection is available on every plan. Changing plans never removes a password or makes protected footage public; only the owner’s explicit removal of protection changes that access. Mandatory refund rights remain unaffected.
